REASONS FOR THE DETERMINATION

Refusal to issue a marine medical certificate – The applicant suffers from a medical issue requiring the use of opioid medication which is incompatible with Transport Canada’s standards with respect to the performance of seafaring duties. The Minister’s decision to refuse to issue a marine medical certificate to the applicant was reasonable. The Minister’s decision is confirmed.
