DETERMINATION
The Minister’s decision is confirmed.
REASONS FOR THE DETERMINATION
Refusal to issue a marine medical certificate – Evidence presented at the hearing supported the Minister’s position that the applicant was unfit to hold a marine medical certificate according to the regulations and guidelines. The medical information provided by the applicant’s physician suggested that he had an ongoing medical condition that required further treatment and monitoring in order for him to meet the fitness requirements for marine medical recertification. This finding is supported by the ILO/IMO guidelines. Consequently, the Minister’s decision not to issue a marine medical certificate is confirmed.
