DETERMINATION
The Minister’s decision is confirmed.
REASONS FOR THE DETERMINATION
Refusal to renew a category 3 aviation medical certificate — The applicant is suffering from a disqualifying condition (Bipolar Type 1 Disorder with an episode of mania) according to the evidence before the Tribunal and applicable legislation. Because of its unpredictability and risk of recurrence, and the disabling nature of the condition, this could have serious implications for flight safety. Therefore, the Minister of Transport’s decision is confirmed.
